The building
Dubai Opera is in Downtown Dubai and was designed to resemble a dhow, with the main stage in the bow. It opened on 31 August 2016 with a performance by Plácido Domingo. The venue can be a theatre, a music hall or a flat-floor event hall, using hydraulic lifts and seating wagons that move 900 of its seats. Wikipedia gives its seating as 2,000, while its construction section gives 1,901, so we say about 2,000.
