Culture and books
The Sharjah International Book Fair, 4 to 15 November 2026 at Expo Centre Sharjah, was listed as free in one report, with registration through the fair's website or app recommended to skip queues. Opening hours for 2026 had not been confirmed when we checked.
The Tamaas Festival at NYU Abu Dhabi on 29 January 2027 is listed with a free pass on registration. Registration limits and times are set by the Arts Center.
Sport
What's On's guide to the year's sport reported that general admission at the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, 5 to 8 November at Yas Links, was free on 6 and 7 November. That guide pre-dates the tournament's rebrand, so confirm the days with the tour.
Road events are open to spectators on public roads. The Dubai Marathon on 17 January 2027 closes roads on its route, so check the official maps if you plan to watch.
Festivals with low entry prices
Not free, but inexpensive: Global Village charges Dh25 on weekdays, and children under three, adults aged 65 and over and people of determination enter free. NYU Abu Dhabi lists several concerts from Dh52.50, such as Ramadaniyat: The Handover on 17 February.
How to check that it is really free
Free events still scam-bait visitors. Go to the organiser's own page, not a social media post, and never pay a fee to register for a free event. Dubai Police warn that fake pages copy the branding of known organisers, as our ticket safety guide explains.
