The racing

Thirteen international teams compete in identical F50 catamarans, the largest SailGP season to date. At the time of the article Australia's Bonds Flying Roos led Spain's Los Gallos by 17 points, with the US team, Artemis and Emirates GBR separated by five points in the race for third. Standings will have moved by the time you read this.

Emirates GBR won its first championship in Abu Dhabi last year, and the UAE hosted both the opening and closing rounds of that season.

Planning notes

Both weekends are in a busy November. The Emirates Dubai 7s begin the same weekend as the Abu Dhabi final, and Frieze and NOMAD in Abu Dhabi overlap the Dubai round, finishing on 22 November.
